34 week appointment

Not much interesting at our appointment - I wore fewer layers this time b/c the weather is so nice & I only weighed 150, so that was good. Doctor said he is now at a point of excellent viability so if he were born now he’d have a fantastic chance of doing very well. Only 6 weeks (40 days) till my due date, and only 29 days till my last day at work.  Next appointment will be more interesting, he’ll check baby’s position and see if I’m dilated. After that we’ll go every week.

And finally we painted!

I should say Charlie painted. He did it all himself too, I helped when I could to tape up the walls after it dried, but he did all the painting himself - and it looks sooooooo good! My mother-in-law’s curtains are so good too & look just perfect in the room. I only have a few more things to finish & put in the room before it’s done & when it is I’ll post some before & after pics to share. It’s my favorite room in the house - I just want to be in there all the time! The walls are a cheery yellow & it gives a warm happy feeling to the room. The furniture color looks really nice against the walls too. I can’t imagine anything more wonderful!

He is Risen!

This is the first Easter in many years that we haven’t attended a Sunrise service. I will definetly suggest it to someone at our church for next year. I just love sunrise services. Although, I’m pretty tired lately so I didn’t complain about the 9:00 service. My maternal grandparents are visiting for the week & my paternal grandparents came with us all to our church too, so there was a lot of family together celebrating Christ’s resurrection. The message was good as usual, a good reminder on how God loved us first and it’s only by His love that we can genuienly love others. The 4th & 5th graders presented a coreography to an Easter song & it was powerful. I couldn’t help imagining that one day Elliot might participate in something like that.

Afterwards Charlie’s parents came to our family gathering & we spent a typical holiday at the Spradley Home, all the adults sitting around visiting & playing games & doing puzzles while all the kids swim or play 4-square, badmitton, and pingpong. I just love days like this. I look forward to Elliot growing up in this family & the next generation of little ones experiencing God’s love in the midst of a christian family.

A Baby Shower Tea

I love tea parties & my mother-in-law was sweet enough to throw me one for the family baby shower. Charlie has a huge family & it was fun to have both families there together. I am so blessed with wonderful families on both sides and was overwhelmed by their generosity. God provided beautiful weather & we had it outside without being too warm or too cold. I had a lot of fun visiting w/ all the grandmas & aunts. I also got to eat my favorite cucumber cream cheese sandwiches! We recieved a lot of nice things, cute outfits, and several things we needed from the registry. Having all these baby things makes it all become so much more real…soon we’ll have a baby to use them on!  When I have a minute I’ll post some pictures.
